Leather Apron Size Reduction for a Better Fit

Most leather shop aprons for blacksmithing, welding, metal fabrication, and metalworking are built to a standard size of approximately 36" long by 24" wide, with a bib measuring 10"–12" wide. While that size works well for many makers, it can be oversized and uncomfortable for those with a smaller frame—making it difficult to move safely and comfortably in the shop.

Our Leather Apron Size Reduction option allows you to customize your apron for a more secure, comfortable fit. A properly fitted apron improves mobility, reduces excess material, and helps provide better protection while you work at the forge, welding bench, or fabrication table.

Size reductions can be made in three key areas:

  • Bib Width – Narrow the upper bib for a better fit across the chest.

  • Lower Apron Width – Reduce excess material around the waist and legs.

  • Apron Length – Shorten the overall length for improved comfort and freedom of movement.

  •

The ideal dimensions will depend on the apron style you select and the wearer's height and build. If you're unsure which measurements are right for you, we're happy to help. Contact us for personalized sizing recommendations before placing your order.
